Steps to Enrollment at Little Ones MONTESSORI

1) The Inquiry

After receiving information about Little Ones Montessori, carefully review our Mission Statement and the Guiding Principles. Please call and arrange for a tour or observation. Parents are required to visit before applying.

2) The Greeting

If the parent(s) feels our school might be a good educational match for their family and child, the Directress and parents will schedule an interview  or greeting with both parents and child(ren). This is mainly so we can all meet each other.  The informal interview consists of a general discussion with the parents about our school, our program, and how the child might adapt to the new environment. Parents are invited to ask questions. While we talk, the child is invited to join the other children as they work or play. The greeting lasts approximately 30 minutes.

3) The Application

If the Directress and parents feel that Little Ones Montessori matches the family’s and school’s educational goals for the child, the parent will receive an application and information packet.  Complete the application and send it with the $200.00 non-refundable, non-transferable Tuition Deposit to the school. This is deducted from the Tuition upon acceptance.

4) Acceptance

Acceptance is based on several factors examined on an individual basis, the most important of which is the match of the family’s and the school’s educational goals for the child. If all parties feel there is a match and there is remaining space, the child will be accepted.

Siblings of present qualifying children are given priority. New applicants are considered for the remaining spaces.

5) Waiting List

Applicants who have been accepted for all reasons other than space availability will be placed on our waiting list. Parents will be notified when a place becomes available.

(No disposable water bottles, please.)

  • A complete change of clothes placed in a gallon size reusable Ziploc baggie (WRITE CLEARLY ON THE OUTSIDE OF THE BAG, IN LARGE CURSIVE LETTERS WITH PERMANENT MARKER, YOUR CHILD’S NAME).

  • One child sized backpack (NO wheels or overnight bags allowed) that your child can handle independently, so it should fit your child’s back. Clearly label the outside of the backpack with your child’s name. ABSOLUTELY NO CHARACTERS OR LOGOS, as these are not consistent with and distract from your child’s education. Your child will bring his/her backpack to school daily and hang it on his/her assigned hook outside the classroom (under cover). Periodically, your child will bring home their projects, finished work, soiled clothing, and items he/she wants to share with the class in his/her backpack. ALL items brought from home need to be placed in your child’s backpack, including sweaters, coats, and replacement clothing, etc. Thank you for your cooperation.

We are always on the lookout for miniature pieces that can be put together into practical life activities. If you ever run across any of the following items when you are cleaning your closets, or have a neighbor or grandma that likes yard sales and would like to make a donation, we would greatly appreciate it. The variety keeps things interesting for the children.

Thank you so much for your cooperation!
